USS Coronado (LCS 4)

USS CORONADO was the second INDEPENDENCE - class Littoral Combat Ship and the third ship in the Navy to bear the name. CORONADO held a decommissioning ceremony at her homeport of San Diego, Calif., on September 14, 2022, and was officially decommissioned on September 30, 2022.

The photos below were taken by John Rebus (Michael) and show the CORONADO at the Bravo Pier, Naval Air Station North Island, Calif., on June 2, 2016. The CORONADO has recently been equipped with a Boeing RGM-84D Harpoon Block 1C surface-to-surface guided weapon system in front of her superstructure for extended operational testing. A live fire test is planned for July, as part of the RIMPAC 2016 exercise.

The Rose Festival might be CORONADO's last public appearance as the Navy plans to decommission her soon.
