Originally built and placed in service as Floating Workshop YR 77, the barge was converted to a repair, berthing and messing barge at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Hi., in mid-2002. Redesignated YRBM 52, the barge is now serving as one of the Navy's non self-propelled Repair, Berthing and Messing Barges.
