General Characteristics Image Gallery to end of page
YFN 1279 was one of the Navy's covered lighters. After only 4 years of service YFN 1279 was deactivated and put in reserve at Philadelphia, Penn., in 1997. Later converted to an open lighter, the barge reentered service as YC 1685 on December 17, 2009.
