USS Forrestal (CV 59) Model#1

This 1:200 scale model of the USS FORRESTAL was constructed by Peter Oho from Pirmasens, Germany. It shows the carrier in its post-commissioning condition with some additional equipment for example a fourth rudder although the FORRESTAL was just commissioned with three rudders (the third one was later welded into place as part of the keel). But if you carefully watch the pictures you'll find all the nice little details like the 120 sailors working on the flight deck and on the island. In addition the model is equipped with 163 light bulbs and 5 of the bigger antennas are able to rotate. One of the elevators can also be moved vertically. One of the highlights is that the model is equipped with a modified walkman that "produces" jet sounds. In fact that's a wonderful model with lots of special functions.
