Jerry MillerJun 4, 2020Holiday Inn : Metairie New Orleans AirportWe have a plan in place which will provide a good reunion for all our shipmates in New Orleans. The reunion is about ten months away so we need to ensure none of our shipmates are left out because they failed to hear about the reunion. I ask each of you to contact shipmates from when you were aboard and encourage them to come be part of our reunion inNew Orleans June 4 - 7, 2020. Check our Plan of the Day and if you see anything you feel we should change, or other activities please contact me at JJMUSN@aol.com or call 417 247-7744. We finalized cost and have the registration form ready so you can send in your money. We have signed a contract with Holiday Inn Metairie, LA. for they will meet our needs. We haveblocked 60 rooms for USS Monongahela guest. We established our free breakfast each day in the Magnolia Room will include; orange juice, coffee, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, grits, biscuits & gravy, toast, muffins, cereal, milk, and whole fruit each day. There is free parking at the hotel and free shuttles to and from the airport. Rooms will be ready for your reservations June 10, 2019 and you’ll have until May 4, 2020 to get your room. You will get the Monongahela special rate if you get your room by May 4, 2020 but after that you are on your own. You can get the rate two days before and two days after if you want to come early or stay late. Make your reservations; Room rate is $103 plus tax. Check-in is at 1500 but we will have the hospitality room open at 1430. The bus will pick us up at the hotel and drop us off at the hotel when complete. We should be complete by 1300 and the rest of the day will be free time if you desire to see something special on your own. We'll have a WWII author/historian of naval ships available to visit with. Keep an eye on the Plan of the Day for any changes. On Saturday we will have a place for our organization executive meeting and our business meeting. These meetings will be ran by the President of our group; Scott Anderson. If you have any questions about either meetings please contact Scott. I'm sure the President will have many things to get taken care of. Like setting locations for the next two reunions. Every member will need to be present. Shirts will be completed by Hillbilly Holler. I'll provide more information once they provide me with samples. More to follow on shirts. The Banquet will be in the Magnolia Room and we are getting the program set in place for the evening. If you desire to be part of the program please let Jerry Miller know so you can be added to the program. The President will have closing comments which will allow him about five minutes. The key to making this plan work is having 80 people attend. That means we get the Magnolia Room. If less, we will get the Cypress Room. We're sure we can get 80 people to attend.

Add a reunion information.
