Dickler, Nate1943 – 1945Nate Dickler was my father. He often spoke of his life on board this floating city. He truly enjoyed the time he served. After the navy, he had 3 children and worked for a jewelry firm for over 50 years. He lived til age 83.

Fluhart, ThomasAMM/CAC1944 – 1945We were at the Okinawa campaign and had a buckled avaition fuel chamber because of a Kamikasi . We went to Guam for repairs and then back until the island surendered. We started south and heard the atomic bomb had been droped.
Wood, Thomas (Tommy)1944 –My dad talked often about the shipley bay. He said he ran the evaporators on it during WWII. He is now deceased.
Brennan, Lawrence1944 – 1945My Dad served onboard with the VC-97 Squadron. He was a crewman with Lt Comdr. M.T. Whittier and R. D. Fowles. He passed away in 2001 at the age of 78. Would love to hear from anyone who knew him.
