USS PRAIRIE was the second DIXIE - class destroyer tender and the second ship in the Navy to bear the name. Both decommissioned and stricken from the Navy list on March 26, 1993, the PRAIRIE was sold for scrapping a few days later. She was subsequently towed to India where she was broken up.
