USS Bergall (SSN 667)

USS BERGALL was one of the STURGEON - class attack submarines and the second ship in the Navy to bear the name. Inactivated while still in commission on August 4, 1995, the BERGALL was formally decommissioned on June 6, 1996. Stricken from the Navy list on June 6, 1997, the BERGALL was disposed of through the Navy's Nuclear Powered Ship and Submarine Recycling Program at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard at Bremerton, Wash. Recycling of the submarine was finished on September 29, 1997.

Accidents aboard USS BERGALL:

While getting underway from Norfolk, Va., the USS KITTIWAKE (ASR 13) backs down on the USS BERGALL, causing damage to the submarine's sonar dome and the KITTIWAKE's propeller.
